Our Story
Corbally House Nursing Home has proudly cared for residents since 1974 and continues to provide high-quality residential nursing care in a welcoming and homely environment. The historic house itself dates back to 1780, when it was built by William Shannon as a private residence before later becoming home to several notable families and, for a period, King John’s Hotel.
Located on the banks of the River Shannon beside the Mill Stream, Corbally House enjoys a peaceful setting surrounded by nature and riverside walks. These beautiful surroundings create a calm and relaxing atmosphere that residents, visitors and families enjoy throughout the year.
Our Philosophy of Care
We believe every resident deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and compassion. Our approach is centred around the individual, recognising that every person has different needs, preferences and life experiences.
Our aim is to create a genuine home-from-home environment. As we often say, ‘This is your home – we are privileged to work here.’ We promote independence wherever possible while providing the support residents need to live comfortably, safely and with confidence.
A Welcoming Environment
Moving into long-term care can be a significant life event for both residents and their families. Our Director of Nursing is always available to meet prospective residents, provide a guided tour of the home and discuss any personal or medical requirements before admission.
Corbally House operates an open visiting policy, allowing family and friends to spend quality time with loved ones in comfortable surroundings. Visitors can enjoy the library, day rooms, conservatory, gardens or residents’ own rooms. Wi-Fi is available throughout the home and residents’ meetings regularly encourage family participation and open communication.
